Coming out of lockdown..

Coming out of Covid-19 and summer camps 2020

It is the beginning of June and as a result of our work to quash Covid-19 we are coming out of lockdown a little quicker than initially indicated. Hopefully this will continue without a spike as has happened in some other countries. While this is all very good news unfortunately it is not exactly clear where all businesses lie on the roadmap. Retail can open but only those with roadside frontage, cafes can open but only for take-away and of course all the while observing the 2 metre social distancing rule. Language schools, creches and summer camps are still a little in the dark.

Where to go for information

There is a lot of information out there for businesses to draw from. The best sources on the internet are Gov.ie and HSE.ie who have all sorts of invaluable advice. Personally I prefer talking to someone so I went to our local enterprise office to book onto some of their many helpful training sessions. These let you speak directly, via Zoom not only to trainers but to others in business. Questions can be asked that you may not have thought of. It is also good as you understand that you are not alone in the struggle to get the show back on the road. Going forward for this year our school will be a little different.

The second half of 2020 for HHL School

Summer camps 2020 From July 2020..jpg

June, July and September are months dedicated to adults and juniors who come to live and study with us from abroad. This is always an exciting and busy time at HHL School. Sadly not this year as we have had to cancel all bookings for residential guests. This, I pray will come right again for June 2021. Thankfully all is not lost as we are offering our French and activities camp for Irish children. The summer camps will run through the month of August.

Summer camps 2020

We are welcoming our Irish children in August to enjoy our French and activities camps. These are always super fun and engaging. We like to strike a balance between the learning of French and play that means the children don’t feel like they are in school. By the end of the week they have not only learned a well constructed curriculum of French but they have met new friends and done a host of other fun activities. Our key to success is the variety of activities we offer and attention to detail. There is always something for everyone.

Taking care…..

At the school we will do our utmost to ensure that all measures will be implemented to comply with Covid-19 regulations. To achieve this we are restricting numbers. Although numbers for outdoors could be higher it is our indoor space that dictates. The space during class will be maintained at 2 metres. As much as possible we will do all games outdoors. We have also prepared a covered area where outdoor activities can still go ahead during bad weather. Moreover the team are all trained and prepared to ensure good hygiene and safe practice at all times.
