French for teens

Our classes for students in secondary school are fun and conversation focused. At HHL School we offer an opportunity for students who have already done some French at secondary to put their existing language skills to use, to get a head start on new topics and revise old ones. We cover all the Junior/Leaving Cert topics and grammar points. However, at HHL School we bring the language to life and implement all the language knowledge and ability in an active manner. Due to smaller groups and a specific emphasis on oral and aural production students are free to practice and improve their French.

French School for Juniors

Open the world to your children by introducing them to a new language and culture. French as a foreign languages and DELF preparation taught through role-play, songs and games is our passion. We offer seasonal week long camps, classes after school during the term and free additional workshops for students. We also offer private tuition for children between the ages from the age of 7yrs. Our mission is to introduce your children to this wonderful language focusing on the oral aspect which encourages and enriches pronunciation, which in turn helps with their comprehension of the spoken language in a French speaking country.

Our values

Try to understand.

Listen to others

Be open to learning

Share our skills

Use our new language

Help each other

Our classes are well set out and progress from the very basics to intermediate level in accordance with Leaving Cert, Junior Cert, DELF or MFL curriculum. We believe that children have a greater ability to learn a new language when they start early. One or two classes a week is super but finding other ways to use and learn the language is also advised. With the wealth of choice of children’s films and animation available on Netflix there is the possibility of dedicating more time and exposure to the language weekly. At the school we aspire to creating an immersion atmosphere as much as possible. Parents are encouraged to participate and show example to enrich the experience. For our existing students we offer additional workshops throughout the year where we encourage exposure to the language in a more informal way.
